About DSK Group

The Daniella Simone Keisha Group NPO — founded in strength, driven by purpose, committed to ending gender-based violence across KwaZulu-Natal.

Our Story

How It All Began

The Daniella Simone Keisha Group (DSK Group) was founded in October 2010 by the late Mrs Rosy Chettier, who identified a critical gap — there were no GBVF organisations serving the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. Teenagers and adults of the LGBTQ community and women of gender-based violence and femicide from disadvantaged communities had no access to support or assistance.

The organisation was formally registered with the Department of Social Development of South Africa on 31 January 2019, under the Institute of Social Concerns, as a non-profit organisation (NPO 221-939) and public benefit organisation (PBO 930072307).

DSK Group began in a small room of one of the executive members’ properties. By the end of 2013, the organisation had moved to its current building where operations take place daily — growing steadily from a grassroots initiative into one of KZN’s most recognised GBVF response organisations.

Today, endorsed by the Soul City Institute for Social Justice, DSK Group has achieved a 40% improvement in programme outcomes, serving critical hotspots across northern and southern KZN with its 6-stage empowerment framework.

Recognised by Soul City Institute

DSK has successfully fortified its framework, acquired robust financial policies, and adopted the essential pillars for GBVF intervention… Their adoption of the GBVF Pillars 2 and 3 has led to successful implementation in most areas within the northern and southern regions of KZN, especially in critical hotspots. This strategic rollout has yielded a 40% improvement in their programme outcomes… DSK is well qualified and experienced to implement the proposed programme.
